Terms & Recognition Criteria

1. Acceptance of Terms

By signing in to GRADUS, you agree to these Terms and to use the platform only for the academic purpose your role was granted for — scheduling, enrollment, advising, grading, or administration, as applicable. If you do not agree, do not use the platform; access is provisioned by your institution and can be reviewed or revoked by them at any time.

2. Accounts & Responsibilities

Your account is issued to you individually and is not to be shared. You are responsible for:

• Keeping your credentials confidential and reporting suspected unauthorized access.
• Ensuring information you submit (grades, attendance, schedules, profile details) is accurate.
• Using only the features and data your assigned role grants access to.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Attempt to access records, schedules, or grades outside your role's authorized scope.
• Submit, alter, or publish academic records outside your institution's approval workflow.
• Interfere with the platform's normal operation, including automated scraping or bulk data extraction.
• Use the platform to harass, misrepresent, or impersonate another person.

4. Academic Records & Ownership

Academic records processed through GRADUS (schedules, enrollment, grades, and recognition outcomes) remain the property of your institution. GRADUS acts as the system of record on your institution's behalf and does not claim ownership over academic content. Grade changes after publication follow your institution's governance workflow and are logged for audit purposes.

5. Platform Availability

We aim to keep GRADUS available and reliable, but scheduled maintenance, updates, or unforeseen issues may cause temporary downtime. Features such as the desktop and mobile applications may be released progressively; current availability is shown on the Downloads page.

6. Role-Based Governance

Actions with academic consequence — publishing a schedule or finalizing grades — follow role-based workflows rather than a single unilateral action, by design, to preserve academic integrity. Public academic recognition (see Recognition Criteria) is the one exception: it is evaluated and published automatically by the system once grades are finalized, with no separate manual approval step.

7. Termination

Your institution controls account provisioning and may suspend or revoke access at any time, including when your enrollment or employment ends, or in response to a violation of these Terms. Historical academic records tied to a deactivated account are retained under Section 7 of the Privacy Policy.

8. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

GRADUS is provided on an “as is” basis. While we take reasonable care to keep academic data accurate and available, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from platform downtime, data entry errors made by platform users, or decisions made based on published records. Nothing in this section limits rights that cannot be limited under applicable law.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these Terms as GRADUS evolves. Material changes will update the “Last updated” date below. Continued use of the platform after a revision takes effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
